Jonathan Smith is a veteran public radio producer with a career of daily production talk radio ranging from the venerated Diane Rehm show to his current stewardship of Maine Public Radio’s flagship program, Maine Calling.
Smith began his professional career on a couple of election campaigns in Iowa (presidential and congressional) and later, yes, Mr. Smith went to Washington, DC where he took a job parking cars next to Ford's Theatre. Once he realized he wouldn't be promoted to lawyer, he became a public radio producer.
After nine years with The Diane Rehm Show, he moved to New Hampshire to be the Executive Producer of New Hampshire Public Radio's Word of Mouth. In the Fall of 2010, he joined the Maine Public Broadcasting Network to help launch it's new, interactive radio program Maine Calling.
When not producing radio programs, Jonathan spends his time trying all the beers and playing better golf than Woodward.
